(imho) I would encourage those feeling as I do, to write an email
to the Fort Bend School District board members asking them to extend an
offer of Tammy's prior position/school indicating a hasty rush to
judgement based on a number of factors. Further if a reprimand is
required, perhaps consider the use of what the military utilizes which
is a 'non-permanent' letter in one's personnel file (aka Article-15).
Remind them of that the loss of a well-liked and dedicated person like
Tammy is a loss to the District, CBE itself and most importantly, to
the children of the school. Do they really feel that a hasty and
'pressured' rush to judgement was really the correct action.
Would they have decided the same way had there been a calm and
deliberate consideration of all facts ignoring the external fanfare
caused by a very insignificant minority of parents.
Certainly the majority of the voting parents may elect to remind the
board of their actions and/or lack of actions regarding this.
Further it is entirely possible that teaching staff themselves may
reconsider careers within this district. Losing qualified and
good teachers to other school systems would be good for them, bad for
Fort Bend.
Again the email addresses of the board are:
'superintendent@fortbend.k12.tx.us'; 'ssmelley@fortbend.k12.tx.us';
'sbhuchar@fortbend.k12.tx.us'; 'lrickert@fortbend.k12.tx.us';
'kbryant@fortbend.k12.tx.us'; 'cknox@fortbend.k12.tx.us';
'lcaldwell@fortbend.k12.tx.us'; 'smagee@fortbend.k12.tx.us'
something to think about..... other than that - I certainly wish
both Tammy and Amber the best. Hopefully the Board, nor the same
insignificant parents, use some bogus excuse next year to cause Amber
career issues and thus allow the loss of yet more good teaching
staff. just a thought....
