Now that i think about it. Who says it's gotta be a husband or baby? it could be any other guy...
What if she's taking care of an elderly male? maybe she met with Jack but has to go back to him, to take care of him. Or not even that. What if it is a LOSTIE that got hurt while they were escaping? why not?
Maybe it is Hurley, and then we would have 2 issues solved at once.

What if Kate is just baby sitting? being an ex-fugitive it wouldn't be so easy to find a regular job so maybe she's making a living babysitting and the kid she's baby-sitting is the one waiting for her.
Here's one for you,
Kate, Sawyer and Jack were all unconscious when inprisoned. Each had evidence of having been stuck by a needle. Was it an injection or the taking of a sample?
If Kate did have a child, how do we know it would be Sawyer's? Maybe Juliet artificially inseminated her while she was unconscious? In which case it could be someone else's kid?
Just "stirring the pot" so to speak.
islandgirl, for all we know she is a single mother and the one waiting for Kate is her son... she hasn't chosen, she's been double dipping :)
I thought that Kate would choose Jack, but in the flashforward in Through the Looking Glass, Kate wasn't with Jack, so she was probably with Sawyer.

i agree with ya jack is totally who she is after... but she really needs to stop sleeping with sawyer. i know she is probably hurt by jacks bond with juliette but it was her fault he leaned on juiliette. Sorry kate but you need to all for one or not one at all! i still love ya though!
Maybe that guy did something to Kate's black horse. Maybe he took her little airplane away. Any idea why the airplane has 5025 on the wing?
magnumrp...we know Hurley's dad was a rolling stone, Jack's dad had affairs, Kate's dad wasn't in their lives for several years, so easily could've had other kids....Jin's mom was with many men, Sawyer's mom had an affair, ....I bet there could be a way to make everyone related to everyone else. (ha ha)--ok so maybe not everyone!

Carrots - there is a clue, but I can't remember which episode. I'll look into it. Maybe he cheated on her as well as abused her. (Kate's mom). He appears to have sexually harassed Kate. But if he cheated, then we have the possibility of another connection. Heck, Sawyer and Kate might be "kissin cousins". All we know about Sawyer's dad is that he wore cowboy boots and appeared to be a thin man. (the scene just before he sits on the bed). Do they wear cowboy boots in the South? There seems to be a Southeast connection between Locke, Cooper, Sawyer, Kate, and some of the others.
Didn't Jin's dad tell Sun he's not sure if he's the actual father? Kate's adoptive father is the only person in the assembly that we know has been to Korea - isn't that right? So, wow, it just might be.
pistolero...wow--I guess anything's possible--I never would have put those two together, but Jin's dad did say his mom slept with many men. I guess that could include American soldiers. It's probably not true...but I'D get a kick out of it! Love the connections--nice one!
hey i think sam austen might be jin's real dad,while serving in korea he might of been sleeping with jins mom.so that makes kate his half sister.another lost connection.

I agree that there is more to Kate... she seams like she can switch it off and be real cold when she has to.

hiya toon....that stumbly, groping Wayne actually was her real father. I'm not sure which episode it was...but Kate goes and confronts Sam Austen , the military guy who she assumed was her father, but she found out it wasn't possible because he was serving in Korea when she would have been conceived....so she asked him, ''why didn't you tell me Wayne was my real father?'' and in another episode she says, ''I blew up my father''. -ouch
But I agree there is something missing in Kate's past that we haven't seen. Note: the two fisted marksman shooting in the bank robbery...and when they were going to brainwashing room, Sawyer saws ''nice con, freckles...I almost believed you were going to shoot that kid'' and she says , ''it wasn't a con.'' even Sawyer looked at her , kinda shocked that she would do that.
I may be wrong here but I don’t think that was her father... that was her mother’s boyfriend or her stepfather...
But maybe she did something else in her youth... maybe she killed her real father?

magnumrp, you mention that Kate's father may have been inapproriate (sexual abuse)..But when she is talking to the Marshal, he asked if her father ever came round her door at night and she snaps back''he never touched me''. But when she was talking to her friend Tom, when they were kids ...(on the cassette tape) ...he says, you always run Kate and she replies, ''and you know why.'' So was she or wasn't she abused?? She says no---but why was she ''running'' as a kid?
Just because he's a lousy drunk and beats up her mother occasionally, doesn't seem reason enough for murder. I could see her calling the cops or getting revenge some other way, but murder?
I dont know if it was here, but in regards to Kate killing her step-dad...
The military recruiter was actually not her father because he was in Korea when Lil Katie was conceived. Thus, the man who had been sodomizing her, although it is not stated outright, is her real father. When she found out she killed him. We don't know how she found out yet...? and either man probably links her to someone else on the island in some bizarre and mind-blowing fashion. I would say the military man because his back-story was not developed, but then again, nor was Kate's father's. I think I got that right?
I tink that Kate will choose Sawyer because Jack is so in to Juliet and Kate and Sawyer look so good togeter.
